Newhaven vs Midhurst & Easebourne
Saturday 27th October, Fort Road, 3pm kick off
Newhaven are at home for a fourth straight league game as they look to extend their lead at the top of Division Two. Midhurst are their opponents and, like Newhaven, have only lost one league game so far this season. Despite this record Midhurst enter the game on the back of three consecutive cup defeats, the most recent a 6-1 reverse at Eastbourne United in the Sussex Senior Cup. Newhaven come in to the match after back-to-back 3-2 wins in league and cup, the first a win against Broadbridge Heath, before the Senior Cup victory at Saltdean on Tuesday night.
Hailsham Town Reserves vs Newhaven Reserves
Saturday 27th October, The Beaconfield, 3pm kick off
Newhaven are one place above Hailsham Town, in Reserve Section East, ahead of their encounter at the Beaconfield on Saturday. The teams have already met this season, only three weeks ago, with the Dockers coming out on top at Fort Road. That day goals from Ebou Jallow, Damian Lambert and Ryan Walton saw Newhaven to a 3-1 win, Craig Norman scoring for Hailsham with the last kick of the game. The home side haven’t played for two weeks because their game at AFC Uckfield was postponed last weekend. Last time out they lost 2-1 at Bexhill United. Newhaven have won three of their last four games, two of them cup games, and enter the match on the back of a 3-2 extra-time win at Loxwood.
Seaford Town Youth vs Newhaven Youth
Sunday 28th October, The Crouch, 11am kick off
Newhaven Under 18s are back to league action this week, in the form of a local derby at Seaford Town. The reverse fixture was played at the beginning of September – a game that saw the Dockers record a convincing 6-0 win, with Harry Millar netting a hat-trick. Last weekend Newhaven lost 3-1 at Peacehaven, in the Youth Cup, but gave a good account of themselves against higher league opposition. Seaford have failed to score in four of their five league games so far and their last league fixture saw them lose 5-0 against leaders Little Common.
