Newhaven Football Club went another weekend without a game as the weather continues to get the better of pitches throughout Sussex.

Only four fixtures, in all six divisions of the Sussex County Football League, were playable as heavy rain, and snow in some parts, meant a whole host of postponements across the region.

The Dockers’ match against Bexhill United, a team they are still yet to meet this season, was called off at around 10.15am with the Reserves trip to Shoreham coming earlier in the morning at about 9am.

With the Fort Road pitch not showing any signs of improving, Sunday’s Youth team match against Eastbourne United was called off during the afternoon on Saturday.

Newhaven have now gone three weeks without a competitive fixture and it will be the best part of a month by the time they play promotion rivals Eastbourne United on Saturday 30th March.

All the postponements have meant a shuffle of fixtures with yesterday’s match being rescheduled for Saturday 4th May.
