Newhaven’s Reserve Section East league match at Shoreham has been abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch.

Persistent rain throughout the evening and during the first-half made an already wet pitch even worse.

The referee, Mark Lidbetter, decided to abandon the game at half-time with the hosts comfortably leading 5-1 at a dark and gloomy Middle Road.

The game will be rescheduled for a later date.
