Saturday’s SCFL Reserve Section East match between Newhaven and AFC Uckfield had to be postponed due to the tidal storm surge flooding the pitch and facilities.

The pitch (pictured above) was flooded on one side and the changing rooms were without electricity as Fort Road Rec felt the force of the high tides on Thursday night/Friday morning.

The pitches outside the main ground (pictured below) were worse hit with the Recreation Ground resembling a lake.

The match will be rescheduled for some time in the new year.
