Newhaven have today received October’s fixtures from the Sussex County League.
First Team:
The month starts with a home league game against Southwick on Tuesday 2nd, but the Dockers then have the following weekend off as they have no game on the 6th. Saturday 13th will see the visit of Storrington to Fort Road – the reverse fixture from the second game of the season which Newhaven won 4-1.
On Tuesday 16th Newhaven travel to Sidley United in the second round of the Sussex Principal RUR Charity Cup. The winner of that tie will face either East Grinstead Town or Lancing at home in the third round. Newhaven are back at home on Saturday 20th to face fellow promoted side Broadbridge Heath. The Dockers then travel up the road, to Saltdean United, in the first round of the Sussex Senior Cup. That game is on Tuesday 23rd. The victor will be at home against either Littlehampton or Westfield.
The month is completed with another home game, a 9th out of 12 league games, as Midhurst and Easebourne travel to Fort Road. Full list of fixtures and results for the first team can be found here.
Reserve Team:
The Reserves kick off October with, you guessed it, another home game! Hailsham Town visit Fort Road on Saturday 6th. Another home game follows when Newhaven host Little Common on Friday 12th.
Newhaven are then away – no you read correctly – on Saturday 20th as they travel to Loxwood in the first round of the Reserve Section Challenge Cup. They round off the month with another away fixture, their first in the league, on Saturday 27th, this time at Shoreham. Full list of fixtures and results for the reserve team can be found here.
Youth Team:
Incredibly, Newhaven Under 18’s are without a home game during the month of October. They have no fixture during the first weekend and then travel to AFC Uckfield on Sunday 14th. A local-derby cup tie then awaits on the 21st with Newhaven travelling the short distance to Ryman League Peacehaven. The winner of this Youth Cup second round game will then face one of the Eastbourne Town teams in the third round. Another local derby then completes the month as the Dockers travel to Seaford Town on Sunday 28th. Newhaven beat Seaford 6-0 at Fort Road, just a few weeks ago. A full list of fixtures and results for the youth team can be found here.
