Newhaven will begin their post-lockdown era with a home tie in the Emirates FA Cup, as the early round draws for all FA competitions were announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The Dockers will host fellow Southern Combination Football League side Lingfield in the Extra Preliminary Round at the Trafalgar Ground on Tuesday 1st September.

Lingfield were 15th in the Premier Division last season, when it was brought to a premature end due to COVID-19, and had a mixed away league record that included six wins, two draws and five defeats from their 13 away trips.

The winner of this fixture will then face a home match against either Corinthian, of the Southern Counties East Football League, or Sheerwater, of the Combined Counties Football League, in the Preliminary Round on Saturday 12th September.

In the Buildbase FA Vase, Newhaven are exempt until the First Round Proper and therefore miss the first two qualifying rounds of the competition.

Elsewhere, Newhaven Under-18s also learnt their FA Youth Cup Preliminary round opponents, and they face a home tie against South Park.

That match will be played at the Trafalgar Ground in the week commencing Monday 7th September, with the winners facing a home tie against either Worthing or Guildford City in the First Qualifying Round.

Information relating to spectators being allowed in to these games will be issued over the next few days.
