Newhaven FC have been handed an away game, at local rivals Saltdean United, in their return to the Sussex Senior Cup.

Both sides were promoted to Division Two in April, after a season-long battle for the Division Three championship ended with Newhaven winning the title on ‘Goals Scored’.

The two league games between the sides were both tight affairs – the first a pulsating 2-2 draw at Fort Road on Boxing Day, the second a 2-1 home win for ‘The Tigers’ at Hill Park on Easter Monday. ’The Dockers’ also beat Saltdean to the Intermediate Cup, winning 1-0 thanks to an own goal just before half-time.

The winner of this first round tie will then face a home match against either Littlehampton Town or Westfield in the second round.
