Newhaven FC have been drawn against Cove, of the Combined Counties Football League, in the First Round Proper of the FA Carlsberg Vase.

The Dockers booked their place in Monday’s draw after a 4-2 in at Southwick on Saturday afternoon. Two goals from James Rhodes and one-a-piece from Ebou Jallow and Ryan Knight saw Newhaven through against their Division Three opponents.

Cove currently sit in 18th place in the Premier Division having won two, drawn one and lost five of their opening eight league games.

The two sides met at Fort Road, in the First Qualifying Round of the same competition, back in 2009 – that game ending in a very comprehensive 6-0 win to the visitors.

The match will be played at Fort Road on Saturday 19th October and will kick off at 3pm.
