Match Report

East Preston 0-5 Newhaven (HT 0-3)
Lee Robinson (25, 45, 75), Dave Altendorff (42), Kyle Woolven (70)

Newhaven put on a convincing display to comfortably defeat East Preston at the Lashmar.

The Dockers opened the scoring when a clearance from Jayson Sowter released Lee Robinson in behind and he made no mistake slotting the ball home, 1-0.

Newhaven continued to dominate the game but it took until the 42nd minute for them to double their lead, Kyle Woolven’s in-swinging corner earnt him his 25th assist of the season when it found Dave Altendorff at the far post who volleyed the ball into the back of the net, 2-0.

On the stroke of half time the lead was extended further, Woolven’s outstanding pass found Robinson who lobbed the advancing keeper, 3-0.

The second half was more of the same, with Newhaven in the ascendancy.

The task facing East Preston then became even more difficult when they were reduced to ten men after Robinson was fouled on a run towards goal.

Newhaven increased their lead when Lukas Franzen-Jones played a ball down the left wing for Robinson to chase after, Robinson’s low cross found Woolven arriving in the area and he slotted home left footed for 4-0.

The icing was then put on the cake when Robinson converted from the spot after having been fouled in the area, his hat trick goal also made it 59 for the season beating his personal best with 7 games still remaining, 5-0.

So, a good days work for the Dockers as they claim another three points and a third clean sheet in a row.

Next up, the Dockers welcome Broadbridge Heath on Saturday.
