Match Report

Newhaven 2-2 Haywards Heath (HT 0-2)
Oliver Davies (60), Connor Sidwell (80)

Newhaven came back from a 2-0 deficit at half time to grab a draw courtesy of goals from Oliver Davies and Connor Sidwell.

Haywards Heath had the better of the first half and took a 2-0 lead into the break, but a whole host of changes for both teams at the interval meant a very different second half.

Newhaven came out much the brighter of the two teams and created several good chances before Davies pulled a goal back for the Dockers.

Sustained pressure from a corner eventually led to the ball falling for Sidwell to fire home to level up the scores.

Newhaven almost won it at the death but Tom Cooklin’s flying header was well saved by the Haywards Heath stopper and the game finished all square.
