Peacehaven U18 1-11 Newhaven U18 (HT 1-3)

Newhaven Under-18s fired eleven goals past Peacehaven in a one-sided local derby at Piddinghoe Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

The young Dockers were 3-1 up at half-time thanks to two goals from Lukas Franzen-Jones and one from Marcus Richmond.

There was no stopping a rampant Newhaven side as they hit a further eight goals in the second half.

Martin Stephen got in on the act to make it four, before Franzen-Jones completed his hat-trick for 5-1.

Stephen fired in a sixth and then Richmond hit two more for a second Dockers hat-trick of the day. Stephen completed a hat-trick of hat-tricks as he scored his third and a Newhaven ninth.

Ben Earle notched a penalty before centre back Miles Clarke finished the scoring with a close range effort.

A mention also for 15-year-old Kyle Woolven who finished the game with seven assists to his name.

The victory moves Newhaven up to second in Sussex County Youth League East ahead of next week’s visit to last season’s champions Eastbourne United.
