Newhaven FC have today received fixtures, for the month of January, from the Sussex County Football League.
The Dockers begin the month with a trip to local rivals Saltdean United on Wednesday 2nd. Two games between the teams so far this season have seen two Newhaven wins, 3-0 in the league at Fort Road, and 3-2 in the Senior Cup at Hill Park.
Then follows the rearranged home league meeting with Oakwood, on Saturday 5th. The teams were due to play this fixture at the end of November but a waterlogged pitch meant that the game was postponed. Newhaven won the reverse fixture 5-1, at Tinsley Lane, at the beginning of November.
Next up, on Tuesday 8th, is the rearranged Senior Cup 2nd Round match against Littlehampton Town. The Golds’ involvement in the FA Vase delayed the fixture in November, and then a frozen pitch at Fort Road in December pushed it back further. This will be one of three meetings between the sides in 2013 as there are two league fixtures still to be made. This all comes after Town put Newhaven out of the FA Vase, 4-1 after extra time, back in September.
The busy start to the month continues with a trip to Mile Oak on Saturday 12th. The sides played out a 1-1 draw, at Fort Road, in September.
The following weekend, Saturday 19th, Newhaven welcome Bexhill United to Fort Road for their first meeting of the season.
And then the last Saturday of the month (26th) sees the Dockers travel to Little Common. The teams met early on in the season, just three games in, when Newhaven won the three points with a 3-1 victory.
January is then complete, on Tuesday 29th, with the quarter-final of the RUR Charity Cup at Division One side Crowborough. The Dockers booked their place in the last eight with a 1-0 home win against Lancing and the Crows saw off Storrington 5-2.
Please note that if Newhaven are successful against Littlehampton Town, on the 8th, they will face Crawley Town at home on Tuesday 22nd.
