Newhaven opened up a six-point gap at the top of Division Two after an enthralling encounter at Little Common Rec on Saturday.

Sean Breach and Lee Robinson gave the Dockers a 2-0 half-time lead before Robinson made it three early in the second half. The division’s top goal scorer, Jamie Crone, pulled one back for the hosts and then Chris Cumming-Bart reduced the deficit further. Crone got a second as Little Common completed an unlikely comeback.

However, Newhaven found a second wind and a hat-trick goal for Robinson, and one for Naim Rouane, won the three points for the visitors. Full report here.

Newhaven Reserves were beaten for a fifth consecutive game as they lost 2-0 at home to local rivals Seaford Town. Report here.

Newhaven Under 18’s game at Little Common on Sunday has been postponed due to an unfit pitch.
