Newhaven’s lead at the top of Division Two has been reduced to three points after their fixture at Loxwood was postponed.

The pitch at Plaistow Road, which was due to have two fixtures played on it, was deemed unfit and the match will now be rescheduled.

Second placed Littlehampton took advantage by beating winless Saltdean United 4-1 and can now go top if they beat Rustington on Tuesday night, due to their superior goal difference.

Eastbourne United needed a 94th minute equaliser to earn a point against Southwick and Little Common were beaten 1-0 by Storrington. Broadbridge Heath thrashed Newhaven’s next opponents, Bexhill United, 5-1 to go fourth.

Newhaven Reserves’ match at AFC Uckfield was also postponed, on Saturday, due to a waterlogged pitch.
