All four matches involving Newhaven teams this weekend have been postponed due to the ongoing adverse weather the county and country is currently enduring.
Newhaven’s Sussex County Football League Division One match against Selsey was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch, on Saturday, as was Newhaven Reserves’ league match at Haywards Heath.
Sunday’s games involving Newhaven Under 18s – at Crowborough – and Newhaven Under 13s – at Peacehaven – were both also called off due to the pitches being unplayable.
The Reserves are still awaiting their first competitive fixture in 2014 and will hope Thursday (13th February) evening’s local derby at Seaford Town will go ahead. Before that Newhaven head to Worthing for the twice rearranged Sussex Senior Cup 3rd Round tie. That game is on Wednesday 12th February and will kick off at 7.45pm.
